Bodybuilder tries Crossfit for the first time - the location is Crossfit Hammersmith in London.
Nadia one of the coaches there shows me some Crossfit moves and introduces me to their training principles. I give kipping pull ups a try and am also introduced to thrusters.
No Crossfit introduction would be complete without trying one of their famous workouts - I met Fran! A short, simple workout that consists of the following:
21 Thrusters - 21 Pull ups
15 Thrusters - 15 pull ups
9 Thrusters - 9 Pull ups
This is done as quickly as possible. Nadia absolutely smashed this in no time at all, I took at least twice as long! Got to the end though and pushed myself which is the main thing.
So I won't be switching to Crossfit, but I now have a greater understanding of it and have utmost respect for the coaches and athletes who are involved in it.
Had a great day at Crossfit Hammersmith - its an awesome set up and if you're in the area I would strongly recommend popping down there if you're looking to improve your conditioning.
