healing touch Mama Natural's Summer Vacation

https://MamaNatural.com 🔅 We just got back from a magical one week summer vacation... Full moons, starry nights, campfires, delicious meals and get this... NO CELL PHONE, NO EMAIL and NO INTERNET. We stayed at the Riola Shorthorn Farm Getaway in Washington Island, Wisconsin.

Located about 5 miles off the Northern tip of the Door County Peninsula, the island is about 80 miles Northeast of Green Bay and less than 300 miles from Chicago.

One of the earliest immigrant settlements in Wisconsin, Washington Island dates back to 1865 when brave Icelandic and Scandinavian immigrants made this island their home. Washington Island waters attracted and repelled civilizations throughout its history. While rich in fish, the water is the most dangerous on Lake Michigan so much so that the port became known as "Death's Door." Luckily, modern navigational tools have tamed these waters so we all can enjoy this beautiful island.

In our little vacation video, you'll see images of:

· The Riola Shorthorn Farm Getaway, our lovely home during our stay that was located on a working cattle ranch (We hear lots of moos!)
· School House Beach, an unique place whose shores are full of rocks rather than sand (Griffin loved chewing on the rocks)
· The Washington Island Farm Museum where you can feed chickens, make homemade ice cream and go for a buggy ride
· The Stavkirke (Stave Church), a Scandinavian replica that is situation along a wooded Prayer Path (Mike and I want to renew our vows there one day!)
· The Annual Fly-In Fish Boil, where we dined on delicious fish, potatoes and slaw all drizzled with warm butter... YUM!

I love the spirit of the island. While there's only one grocery store, there are four times the amounts of churches... and you can feel it! People are extraordinarily kind and open-hearted. Everyone who lives on the island has a story to tell and it's a wonderful close-knit community. One of their most charming traditions is when you pass anyone along the road, you wave.
